One of the recent services launched by Google is the Google Reader, which is available at [reader.google.com]. The Google Reader will allow Internet users to search for relevant RSS feeds and manage them too. As a result, Internet users will be able to benefit from the updated information and current news articles or snippets on various topics of their choice.
In the recent past, we have noticed an increase in the popularity and use of blogs as well as RSS and this increase is going to be there in the near future. One of the primary reasons for the popularity of RSS feeds can be contributed to the availability of updated information in a systematized manner and accessible to almost anyone. For the average Internet user, the launch of the Google Reader is being seen as one giant step. It is a powerful tool that is easy to use.
Using the Google Reader
For first timers, using RSS or downloading and configuring the RSS reader can be quite a cumbersome process especially when you can visit your favorite web site and use their advanced search features to look for new articles or topic specific articles/news. There is another breed of people who would not even try the task of understanding how a new process like RSS feed will work as they have a pre-conceived notion that it might be complicated. This pre-conceived notion gets most of its strength due to the availability of other options.
The Google reader has been hence created to make the pre-conceived notions disappear and to make searching for the latest news on RSS simple and easy. To use the Google Reader, you need to follow 4 easy/baby steps:
1. Visit [reader.google.com] to open Google Reader
2. Type your topic of interest in the search box
3. You will get a list of results related to your topic of interest. Find the one you want.
4. Click "Subscribe"
Did you ever think it could have been so easy? Well! That's all you have to do to sign up for your favorite feed and the good part is that you can sign up for more than one topic/feed.
What you need to do is click to go back to the Google Reader homepage. On the homepage, you will find a list of feeds displayed on the left-hand side. This is the list that you have subscribed. If you choose any specific feed from the left hand side then you will see all the new posts added on to that particular feed on the right hand side. You do not even have to search for new or updated feeds!
Hailed as one of the best products from Google, the Google Reader has a high usability and hence will make your life a little more comfortable in a world where knowledge rules supreme; where knowledge is the difference between success and failure.
Is the Google Reader for you?
Since the Google Reader is easy to use and is considered a powerful tool; it will be helpful for anyone and everyone who wants to keep themselves updated on any kind of news from forest fires in the tropical rain forest to Premier league soccer scores. Although the service is meant for every one but the people who will really benefit from it will be the researchers, business professionals, reporters, consultants, analysts etc.
The Features
The Google Reader comes with some value added advanced features, which include:
G Mail This: Through this, you will be able to advertise your website or services to others on G mail. All you need is a G mail account.
Blog This: This feature will be helpful for those who already have an account on blogger. If you click on "Blog This" then it will open your blog account and you can insert the link on your blog as a reference.
It is impact on SEO
The Google Reader will ensure that RSS and blogs become an integral component of any Internet Marketing strategy. Since the reader is being targeted at getting more users hence the feeds will soon become more SEO friendly and keyword/key phrase driven.
Standing in the present, it seems that the Google Reader is all set to take on the future!

Role of W3 Compliance In Search Engine Optimization
There are many people who are unaware of W3C compliance and many who do not know what kind of role the W3C compliance plays in SEO. First you need to understand what W3C compliance really is. W3C stands for the World Wide Web Consortium and this body or association has been providing the guidelines for website structure since 1994.
The guidelines or rules have been created according to the best practices and there are certain reasons why you or your website designer should comply with the W3C guidelines. All the reasons are not SEO driven and some of the non-SEO reasons include:
1. W3C Compliance will ensure that your website is accessible to the disabled.
2. W3C Compliance will also ensure that your website can be accessed through different devices like cellular phones and PDAs and also from different browsers like Mozilla Firefox.
3. W3C Compliance will ensure that in spite of the different functionalities and requirements of different technologies and browsers, your website will be accessible and function in across different mediums in a similar way.
Now that you know the non-SEO reasons for ensuring full W3C compliance, you will probably ask: what has this got to do with SEO?
According to a statement made by Frederick Townes from W3Edge web design, if you use the standards and incorporate the best practices then you are ensuring that your website will be designed in such a way that it is easier for search engines to interpret it. At the same time, the search engines will be able to skew the content-to-code ratio in the right direction and force the information on each of the web pages to be accessible.
Basically, he means that if you remove excess code from your web pages then the keyword driven content will get a higher priority. The second most important thing is that following the W3C compliance will ensure that your web site can be easily spidered.
How to add W3C Compliance to your website.
Actually it is easier said than done. If you do not have a website then you can have it designed based on the W3C compliance from scratch and your website designer needs to know how he/she can do it. If you have a website, which is not W3C compliant then you have only one option:
You need to hire a web/graphic designer who is familiar with the W3C standards and has the capability to redo your site based on the standards.
Either ways, you will benefit if your website is W3C compliant.
Let us look at a worse case scenario where you will have to do the website all by yourself. There are quite a few good resources that you can take advantage of. One of the best is the FireFox Web Developer extension. You need to first install the FireFox browser and then install the Web Developer extension.
One of the major aspects of this tool is that it provides a one-click check for W3C compliance and it will provide you with a list of the different types of errors, their cause and the solution and everything will be according to the W3C standard. The Web Developer extension can test CSS, HTML, and XHTML, compliance.
Some of the other good resources that you can check include:
1. Holy CSS ZeldMan
2. A List Apart
3. CSS Zen Garden.
How to start
Once you have downloaded the Firefox browser and installed the Web Developer extension, you will need to bookmark your resources. Once this is taken care of, you will have to test your website and at the same time check that your site meets all the W3C standards.
You should first start with the CSS validation. CSS validation is an easy process and can be done quickly as compared to most of the other code files. Once you are done with CSS, move on to HTML or XHTML validation. This will take at least a few hours and even more. The bigger your website is, the more time it will take.
After the validation of CSS and HTML, you will have to comply with Accessibility standards. In this process, you will be cleaning a chunk of your existing code and moving some of the code to CSS.
What is the need?
By now you are probably wondering why you need to do all this. The only reason is that once you complete all the validations, you will have a fully compliant website. Although the W3C compliance is not the only factor that drives SEO but if your website maintains the standard then you will definitely have the edge in the rat race.

SEO Is Key To Success On The Internet
Running an Internet marketing campaign will be unsuccessful unless you take into account the importance of SEO or Search Engine Optimization. If you ignore or skimp on this part of the equation, you will surely fail at promoting your website, product or service. While the acronym SEO is bandied about with abandon by gurus and would-be gurus, most Internet marketers have little idea what it means or where to start to get their site in shape to be in the top 10 of search engine results pages. Even those with some knowledge are always learning, expanding and evolving with the ever-changing algorithms and strategies that will produce targeted traffic on a consistent basis.
Advertising has been an integral part of business for a long time. Advertising to reach new clientele is a time-honored tradition that has been universally accepted to promote products and services. The difference between a geographically located store and a virtual store is extreme. While you can hang a sign in your physical store, there is a totally different method to attract visitors to your virtual outlet. If you are lucky enough to already have a customer base, you need only add your website URL to your business card and inform your clients. If you are new to the Internet and are trying to carve out a niche online, search engine advertising and knowing the ins and outs of SEO will make or break you.
There are a number of free and low cost advertising methods available on the web with varying degrees of success, but if you want a lot of traffic on a continuous basis, you'll need to really learn and understand the search engine advertising methodology.
While Google isn't the only search engine out there, it is the best known and it uses a variety of complex algorithms to arrive at which websites should be listed in the top 10 on relevant keywords or search terms. When you type in the search term "red nail polish cheap", for example, a certain website will be listed as #1 on Google. People will usually click on the first search term they see and as a result if you can attain that position versus position 4,234,030, you will get significantly more visitors looking for red nail polish. How you accomplish this feat falls under the purview of SEO. If you can understand this example, it will be immediately clear just how important it is to optimize your website.
With the "Why Optimize" clarified, lets talk about how you accomplish it. Most larger business go out and hire an SEO specialist who has their ear to the Internet ground with their thumb on the pulse of search engine algorithms. The world of SEO is complex and their are people who do nothing but navigate the industry for you. Their services do not come cheap; however, the results can be amazing and your company can benefit exponentially. Business owners who utilize SEO specialists versus the do-it-yourself method will have a distinct edge when it comes to ranking and position.
Some of the basics to familiarize yourself with include keyword density, META tags, titles, backlinks, unique content and the like.
Keyword density is measured by the number of words on a page divided by the number of times a particular keyword or keyword phrase appears on that same page. The concept behind keyword density rests in the fact that if a particular word or phrase appears a certain amount of times, when a visitor searches on that word, your webpage will appear nearer the top because it is more relevant to the searcher's interest. For instance, web pages on dog toys will never appear in a search result about nail polish. While this is fairly straightforward, it is more complex than that. If you put the word "nail polish" on a page too many times, you will incur penalties because it will be deemed inappropriate. Search engines will think you are trying to cheat the system and your page will wind up 4,000 pages down in the results.
META tags are part of the HTML code where you tell visiting search engines (called spiders) what your web page is all about. In conjunction with the META description, the search engine will put you in certain relevant search results and use the META description as the description in the listing. Again, you will want to avoid putting irrelavent keywords and idiotic descriptions in these areas because you will be penalized and your page dropped into obscurity.
Inbound links, also called backlinks are also taken into account when spiders visit your site. The more backlinks, the more popular your site. A backlink or inbound link is where somebody quotes you on their website and lists your site in the quotation or write up. As a result, the more backlinks you receive, the more search engines think you have some good, useful information to share. Otherwise, why would somebody else list you on their site if all you had on your site was junk. Logical, eh? Different search engines take backlink relevancy more or less into account.
Unique content or low duplicate content is another important factor for search engines. They will compare the content on your site to the content on every other indexed (listed) site in their database. If they find a ton of other websites with the exact same content, you will be penalized for duplicate content. Their thinking is that you are simply taking content from other places and placing it on your site. It is just junk to fill up the site. So, keep it to a minimum and use as much original content as possible. If you do cite or use content from another website, give them the love through using only a portion and giving them a link back to their total article. In your write up, give them credit, and write up your thoughts and feelings on what you've read. In that way, you will be creating original content and not snatching others hard work. It will be viewed as unique content.
If you can't string three words together, there are professional freelances on the Internet who are willing and capable for a fee to provide you with as much unique content as you need on any subject you desire. This extra step and small investment will insure that your website is valuable to your visitors and a site that the search engines adore. It will all convert into more sales for your business in the end.

Tips for maximizing Your Google AdSense Revenues
Despite what you may hear, the Google AdSense program is not for everyone. There are some types of web sites that do poorly no matter how hard the owners try, and there are others that should be doing well but the webmaster simply isn't putting in the effort to make things happen. Here are some tips to make AdSense work better for you. If you do them all and you're still not having any luck, then you just might be running one of those sites that don't make money
1. Determine if your visitors are in the mood.
Like I mentioned at the top of this article, some web sites just don't work with pay-per-click programs. The best performing sites fall into one of these categories:
Sites where users go and expect to buy something while they are there. E-commerce sites fit the bill here.. Sites where users go to find specific information on something that they want to buy now. Music and video review sites, vacation information sites, resume building sites, etc. You don't have to actually be selling these types of things; your site can just be a mecca for information pertaining to these things. Then, when the visitor comes to read your content, they are more likely to click on your ads.
Sites where people who have disposable income and a credit card like to visit. This includes sites with money management, investing and lifestyle content.
Sites that draw a large amount of new users every day. Free coupon sites and How to sites are good examples. Sites where people go who expect to read ads. Classified ads and shopping comparison sites fit into this category.
2. Make sure that your visitors don't feel that you just want to grab their money
Give them plenty of relevant and well-written content. If writing isn't your best skill then hire someone to do it for you. Good content brings steady traffic and steady traffic pays the bills.
3. Play by the rules
Google has some very specific Terms of Service (https://www.google.com/adsense/policies) for participating in their AdSense program. Learn those rules and follow them so you don't lose all of your investment by getting shut out.
4. Use the tools that Google gives you
Google gives you tools for determining the best keywords for your site, measuring ad performance, and setting up different ad channels for fine-tuning ad results. These guys and girls are the 800 lb. Gorillas in the Pay-Per-Click market. They didn't build these tools just to keep their programmers busy. Take advantage of their knowledge for they are very big and you are not!
5. Tweak, fine-tune and then tweak again
You should never be happy with your AdSense performance. If it's good, then you need to make it great. If it's great then you need to make it amazing. If it's amazing then you need to take it to the UPS club. The UPS club? Google sends all checks over $10,000 per month to the webmaster via UPS overnight delivery. Now there's a club that I wouldn't mind belonging to.
6. Get more traffic
No matter how much traffic you have, you need more. More eyeballs translate to more clicks. Even if you're only pulling a 2% click-through. That's a lot of clicks when you have thousands of visitors each day.
7. Experiment with new keywords
New keywords can bring new ads and new eyeballs along with it. Set up some new pages on your site and experiment with different content. Once you get something that's working then refer back to Tip # 5.
You can see results in near real time when you use Google's AdWords. Don't be afraid to be different. If something that everyone else is doing doesn't work for you, then invent something that does work and get it on your site.

6 Google Adsense Tips
1. Less is More I believe the theory behind this lies within the visitor's experience at a website. If you serve up let's say... a 728x90 leaderboard, and a 160x60 side block, and maybe even an extra ad unit or link unit then you aren't just showing the top-paying ads, you're also showing a lot of the ads with lower values too. This is especially painful if your site only triggers ads in the $2 range. These low-paying keywords can be a distraction to the visitor and while the recommended "slop of gravy on top with a side of mashed potatoes" (describing sites using the 728x90 and 160x60 ad blocks on a page) has often been touted as the best placement for Adsense, it is being proven by many to not be all that tasty. Why? Because these ads are "outside" of your content, not within it. When Adsense ads are placed within the body of content, it generally performs better for many. I have seen this myself in testing different Adsense placement methods. One site I own jumped in CTR by 10% when I removed the full meal deal and opted for a small 468x60 text ad block within the body of my content.
2. Keyword Density While Google doesn't reveal the specifics on the methods behind their Adsense madness, most people have learned through experimentation that keyword density plays a significant role. Adsense does rely on the content to determine which ads to show, and they want their ads to be shown. It would also appear that content towards the top of your page has a greater influence over the ads. It's almost a passive way of forcing Adsense users to boost their keyword density to not only show the most relevant ads, but to improve search engine positioning which improves the chances of those ads being seen. Perhaps an underhanded means of thumbing their nose to MSN, which seems to feed on keyword loaded sites these days propelling many an Adsense website into it's top rankings. Either that, or I've been watching too many shows about conspiracy theories.
3. Less is More - or More is More? Another theory is that using fewer internal links on your webpage gives visitors fewer "click-away" options, thus improving chances of them clicking on Adsense ads. If you have 20 links on your page and let's say 4 of them being within a 728x90 ad block, then visitors still have 16 other links to choose from beside the meager 4 Adsense links. Keep only 5 links on the page, and they now have only 9 links to choose from other than Adsense ads. Add more Adsense ads, such as a block containing 5 more links carefully weaved into your content (such as a 336x280), and they now have a better chance of getting clicked on with a ratio of 9:9. Taking it a step further, you could also factor other numbers into the equation such as : percentage of page scanned before clicking away, percentage of page scanned before scrolling, number of average scrolls per page to predict good places to place ads, etc. The odds can definitely be in your favour with this tactic. I haven't aggressively tested this theory yet and with a blog this is certainly not an option, but I have noticed on another site I own this might explain the 20-40% CTR I'm seeing on pages where all internal links are at the bottom of the page.
4. Using Images Next To Ads While it's reported that Adsense doesn't like images placed next to ads which appear to be served by Google, this has been proven by many to boost CTR incredibly. And because these images are different than those which caused the worldwide pandemic of "banner blindness", people are more likely to notice them. It really just makes sense. Human beings are visual creatures. From the time we were monkeys popping our heads over the grass to see if a lion was coming our way, our eyes have always been our first tool in evaluating a situation, and of course, checking out other monkeys. But back to Adsense..... even more effective is when you use images that illustrate the content of the page. I've used this trick and find it reallly works well.
5. Font Type and Size This was announced on the official Adsense Blog recently and it's a great tip. Adjust your page's font and size to match Adsense ads can greatly boost CTR. This could be difficult if your site has a lot of static pages, but a simple batch search & replace tool can help you speed things up. Now figuring out what the matching font is has been a chore for many. I believe (through trial and error) that the font used mainly in Adsense ads is Arial, size: 11px A number of people have reported that they've witnessed Adsense ads conforming to their page's CSS font styles. If anything is occurring here, I'm willing to take a guess that Adsense ads might be able to adapt to a very limited number of fonts and if you happen to use one of those fonts on the page, it will change accordingly. But as I said, if this is true than I think it's limited. After all, have you ever seen an Adsense ad in FontLeroyBrown 20px ?
6. Test, test, test Nearly everyone agrees that Adsense is only as effective as the unique way you integrate it into your website. What works for one person may not work for another. While there are some basic principles which are great starting points for any website, your design and content is unique and therefore visitor behaviour will be unique. Your best results will come through experimentation and patience.

How to Monetize your site using AdSense
With the advent of blogs and other informational sites, the search engine market space has become increasingly competitive.
Sometimes website owners begin to wonder if they will ever make money off their product or service. In this article I give you other ideas on how to make money with your website, even if you don't sell products or services.
My experience with AdSense
As an owner or contributor to many sites, not just search engine related, I've come to learn a thing or two about monetizing a site.
The thing is, I don't mind writing for these sites - it gives me an outlet because my mind is always racing with new article ideas.
On one of my sites is about console gaming: Xbox, Nintendo and so on. It's not a huge site, but I get some decent visitors. I have a friend who writes for a similar site that deals with portable gaming units like the Nintendo DS and the Sony PSP.
When we started writing it was for fun and to bring some news to the world. Kind of like a console gaming news aggregator.
So when Google came out with their AdSense product I applied for an account immediately. Since I work in the industry I knew about AdSense long before most people and got an AdSense account within 48 hours of applying for it.
The setup was quite easy. I logged into a web based console and the system helped me pick the types of ads I wanted to display and even helped generate the code to insert into my pages so the ads matched the same font and background color of the site.
All in all it took me about 15 minutes to sign in, generate the code and paste it onto my page template. Now, every page on this site has Google Ads displayed.
And the great part is the ads are related to the content of the pages. For my Nintendo pages, all the ads relate to Nintendo while for the Xbox pages all ads relate to Xbox.
And the best part of this is that for every click on an ad I make a few cents.
Now, I don't make a lot of money on AdSense, but there are sites out there that do. Weblogs Inc. is a series of blogs all built around themes. A recent interview with the founder showed that the sites are on par to make over $1 million in AdSense revenue this year. That's right $1 million from AdSense.
So you can see that AdSense could be a way to make money in addition to whatever else you do on your site.
How do you get an AdSense account?
Well the first thing you need to do is apply for an account.
It's quite simple really, you give some basic information such as the URL of the site that will host the ads, your contact information and so on, and submit your application.
Google responds fairly quickly and generally your site will be accepted if it meets their guidelines and policies. You can find more information on these policies on the AdSense site.
Once you've been accepted it is a matter of creating your ad code, of which there are two basic types.
AdSense for Content
AdSense for Content is the most common type of ad displayed. These are the ads you see on sites that are marked with "Ads by Goooogle" either above or below the ads, much like the ads you see on Google's site.
The display formats vary for these types of ads which you can see on the AdSense site here. As you will see, there are a variety of layouts available, from text ads to banners.
Once you've selected the type of ads you want to display on your site, you pick the number of ads, and apply a style.
Pick a style which matches your site. In other words, try and pick one that has the same color background and text as your site. This way they don't stand out as much.
Finally, copy the code provided by Google (yup they even provide that for you - pretty simple hey?) and paste it on your page where you want it. Google even provides ideas on the best placement of your ads. Check this page out for more information on ad placement.
AdSense for Search
As the name implies, this is a Google search box which you'd place on your site that searches Google and returns Google results. For these searches you can earn money as well.
Google even allows you to customize the search box by changing the colors to match your site and even insert your own logo if you'd like.
Then, when you've added this feature to your site, your visitors will be able to search Google or search your site and, as I mentioned, if they select an ad you get a cut of that money. You can even find out what phrases people were searching for.
Tracking your Performance
Once you have the ad code(s) inserted into your site the first ads you will likely see are PSA (Public Service Announcements). This is because Google uses its advanced crawling technology to crawl the pages where the ad code are found and matches ads to the content.
Therefore if you check back in 15 or 20 minutes you should see ads that closely match the content of the page on which the ad code is found.
Google also offers you a way to monitor your AdSense account's performance.
By logging into the AdSense console you can generate tons of different reports showing click through rates, impressions, average returns per click and more.
Further, you can get more advanced as time goes on, by setting up channels and tracking them separately. Google now allows for 200 channels. Which means you can have 200 different ad display types scattered throughout your site.
Lets say, for example, that you want a search box as well as ads, but you have different places you want to place ads on your home page as your internal pages.
By using channels, you can track the clicks separately to see which types of ad positions perform better. This allows you to find the best place on your pages to place ad code to make the most money.
Show me the money!
Payments for AdSense are pretty straight forward. Google will mail you a check or you can sign up for their beta direct deposit program.
If you click on the "My Account" tab you can edit your payment preferences.
Google only pays out monthly on $100 or more. So if you don't have more than $100 by the end of the month, the total will roll over into the next month and continue to grow until you do have $100 or more by the end of the month.
I remember when I got my first check - I was so excited. I was expecting a check with the Google logo - you know like the logo they have on their home page. Turns out it was a very official looking corporate type check. Too bad - I was going to scan it and save a copy of my first Google check.
Some final thoughts
If you find that your site just doesn't generate enough clicks in a month to generate at least the $100 minimum, you can use your ad code on other sites which do drive more traffic.
If you know someone who has a high traffic site but isn't taking advantage of a program like AdSense, I'd recommend contacting them to see if they'd be willing to display ads on their site. Perhaps you can make a deal with him - splitting the ad revenue. Be careful not to distribute your code on too many sites, though, as you could set up flags because your clicks have gone up so quickly in a short time.
One thing some people have been known to do is create content specifically for high paying ads. I read a story once about a guy who built a blog around asbestos removal. He didn't know anything
That way you can monetize your site (and others) using AdSense in addition to your existing products or services.

3 Practical Models To Quickly Earn and Maximize Google Adsense
Looking back in time, I could still remember standing in awe and reading the exploits of one adsense publisher who was starting a membership service for people keen to maximise their earnings as a google adsense publisher. He claimed to be making over $40K a month from his google adsense revenue and an almost equal amount from affiliate products.
In my mind,I could not help but believe that if he could be so successful, I could also be successful...and everyone can also be equally successful in developing content websites and allowing google adsense to be published on these websites.
Months followed later where I carried out research on Google Adsense, talked to people who were successful publishers, joined a couple of memberships sites myself, read a few ebooks on the subject, spent hundreds of dollars on tools and webpage generating software...the whole works.
My aim was simple - uncover the successful methods and make at least one of these techniques as mine and be equally successful , if not better.
What were my results? Briefly, there were 3 models that could lead to success. There might be more, but these 3 models figured prominently as I carried out my personal private research.
The Content Model ----------------------------------
In the content model, a mini site is developed for a niche project. Generally, you would find the keywords for niche topics with a low R/S value, build a theme around these keywords and work out a mini website of around 20 to 50 pages. The key to such a website is written content. In many cases, I found reprint rights articles were also used and these were also sites that were successful in bringing in consistent traffic and revenue. Each page is normally written around just one keyword and the entire webpage is tightly SEOed (search engine optimized).
THE SINGLE-PAGE MODEL --------------------------------------
In the second model, a one page article forms the website with google adsense on that article. In order to feature prominently, website promotion is necessary for this model. This is effected by submitting articles using automated softwares and gathering links in return. There were reports that this model is successful, however I did not receive figures to substantiate this claim nor have seen any figures.
THE NUMBERS GAME MODEL ---------------------------------------
This is by far the model that was reported to be widely successful. This model is based on the concept of " Build, Build and Build!". In other words, an incessant non-stop drive to keep on building websites and treating the business as stricly one of providing workable content sites for publishing adsense. However, care must be exercised at all times to follow Google Adsense Terms of Service. A prominent feature of this model was to use some form of auto generating software such as softwares that can generate directories or portals, the use of RSS and blogging to maintain and update the sites on a daily basis or a series of rotating templates. Care must also be keenly exercised that the sites must have content, and not merely appear spammy with results scrapped from search engines. One piece of advice from a veteran adsense publisher was that he would run over his sites such that he was clearly satisfied that the web pages were actually pleasing to a visitor and that the webpages were designed for humans. Often quoted by proponents of Model 3 is that the key to maximizing google adsense revenue and indeed affiliate revenue was to engage in a "numbers game". The more websites you build and commission, the higher is the revenue provided your keyword research is well done. In one case, one publisher claimed that his 65 years old mother could also work on this model by using a RSS system and was earning a good income just a few weeks into the model.
Which of the three models is applicable and useful to you? Are you in for the long term as a serious adsense publisher?
Above all these, you will need a compilation of good resources to assist you in your business as an adsense publisher. Gather the correct resources, personalize the good information and keep working on your model until you reach a good measure of success. Be of good faith, do not falter and you will reach success.

Using Keyword Density for Google AdSense
With the decline of meta-tags, keyword density ranges have become very important. They've also become very controversial. Here's the thing: you want a high enough keyword density--at least 7%--that your keywords rank highly in the bigger search engines, such as Google, Yahoo, DogPile, and HotBot.
But, you don't want your keyword densities so high that they turn your content into over-hyped gobbledygook, nor do you want to raise a red flag when the spiders come crawling over your content. If your keyword density is 20% or more, the search engine will most likely red-flag you for "keyword stuffing" and penalize you by moving you down in the search results.
Thus, keyword density ranges are controversial. To make things worse, different search engines have different algorithms. One of them might thing an SEO keyword density of 18% is fine, another may not.
The only way a search engine can figure out just what your page is about is to search for the keywords you use. Those keywords don't necessarily have to be right there on the page--they can be in the title and in links that will lead to the page. Having said that, though, keywords that appear on your page are certainly the most common way that search engines use to decide what your page is all about. Keyword density refers to the ratio of keywords to the total number of words on the page.
Now I want you to look again at the paragraph above. There are 95 words total, and I used the word "keywords" exactly five times. The keyword ratio for the paragraph, then, is 5 divided by 95 times 100, or about 5.26%. Easy math, correct? You bet.
But how much does that stuff matter?
Well, it's not a matter of life and death, but it's pretty important. You see, when a search engine compares two pages to figure out which one ought to rank higher, keyword density will factor into it--usually pretty significantly. In fact, all other factors being equal (which is pretty much impossible, but let's pretend), the page with the higher keyword density will generally rank higher.
However, simple as Keyword Density is, it can also get really complex in a hurry. Do plurals or other stemmed variations of your keyword count as keywords? Should stop words, which are those common words you see all the time like "a" or "the," be ignored when calculating density?
Should you include off-page content, like meta tags and titles, in your calculations? What about keyword frequency or keyword proximity or keyword prominence? What about the Google AdSense ads themselves? And like I've said before, bear in mind that if your keyword density gets too high, search engines just might realize it and penalize your page.
Keyword densities really are not rocket science, so don't fall into the trap of making things more complicated than they need to be. Go to Google and search on "keyword density." The first three pages should be ones that provide about 20 or 25 different tools for calculating KWD.
Now all you have to do is pick one that feels user-friendly to you and use it to optimize your web page, noting the results. Now try something else: run a Google search on your keyword, and run the analysis on the first ten sites. Take a good hard look at the results. From this, you should get a good idea how your page will compare with the ten top ranking pages in Google, at least in terms of keyword density.
Here's the thing that frustrates people, though: if you go and do that with three or four different KWD tools, you will no doubt come up with different numbers, but the graph of those numbers will look very similar. Don't worry about it, because the numbers aren't the most important thing. You only care how they compare to each other.
Something else you'll probably discover is that keyword density is not a very good indicator of rank. The top ranking page may have a much lower density than the page at number ten, for example.
Why does this happen, when you work so hard to get your keyword density high? It happens because KWD is only one factor among many. It's important to a good ranking, but it's not the be-all and end-all of a good ranking. What you really want to know from your analysis is the range of density values that rank well. Chances are good that if your page is below that range, getting on page one to compete with the big dogs will be tough, and if you're above that range, the search engines may think you're "keyword stuffing" and you'll be penalized. Just remember, though, the numbers are guidelines you should know, not carved-in-stone rules that forever define your fate. Experiment!
You may hear other self-proclaimed website gurus (besides myself) say that keyword density should always run between two and eight percent or whatever the current numbers being quoted in forums across the Internet happen to be. That's partly true. Those numbers are probably fairly accurate for most keywords. They're based on averages and it's always good to stick close to an average.
But there's a problem. Here's how the problem goes: the most commonly used letter in English is the letter "E." If you wrote a ten word sentence, it would be much easier to use the letter E five times in that sentence than it would be to use, say, the letter Z five times. Letters aren't an even distribution. Neither are keywords. Big shock, huh?
Remember what I said earlier about not sounding awkward in your content? Well, the biggest thing about keyword density is that it must read well and sound very natural to a user. It's useless to get a page one ranking if your content is very lame. Like the letter E, some keywords are easy to use a lot of while still sounding natural. For instance, if your keyword was "grass" on a site about lawn care, it wouldn't be hard to use "grass" a lot.
But some keywords just don't lend themselves to being used a lot...like "quince" (it's a type of fruit). Here's the choice to be made: you can use an average range, which will work well most times, or you can spend time analyzing the top ten pages to find the best range for that particular keyword and be sure you're not trying to optimize for a Z or a quince.
Frustrated? Don't be! It isn't that hard. If you're still confused, check out a competitor's page in Google's cache (which highlights the keywords for you) to get a good visual feel for density.
Another good tip is to perform a "real person sanity check" on your content. Reading your optimized content out loud several times, and try to get a natural flow that will make the copy draw users who will come back. Then take a hard look at your content. If you can substitute a keyword for a pronoun without loosing your flow, do it.
For instance, if your keyword is "hammock", instead of a sentence saying, "I love to lie in it," say, "I love to lie in my hammock."

SEO - Quick Tips for Instant Results
People ask me on a daily basis how to do a couple of quick fixes which will make their site appear higher in the search results. The type of people that ask me are usually people who have been doing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) themselves but have not had any great success. This article is for people just starting to do SEO or for people who have been doing it for a long time. The tips are easy to implement and anyone who knows a bit about HTML and SEO will be able make the changes easily.
This article will out line a number of “Quick Fixes” which will make your site move up the search results almost immediately.
1) Use H1, H2, H3 tags in your content with your keywords appearing in them.
2) Use Alt Tags in your website; make sure that they include your keywords too.
3) Create fresh content as frequently as possible.
4) Don’t let your keyword density exceed 15%.
5) Make sure you don’t have a slow loading site.
6) No duplicate content, always keep your text original.
7) Make sure your navigation is text based and your site is easy to navigate
8) Have many RELEVANT backlinks to your website.
9) Backlinks should include anchor text that is varied.
10) Don’t link to banned sites or “bad neighbourhoods”
11) Don’t use too much script, make sure your site is content rich.
12) Don’t ever use Frames or Flash.
These tips are suggested for websites that are established already and have some history. New sites should be optimised as they are build and as they are new it will take a while for the search engines to show them in their results. Therefore, any changes made will not have any effect on a new site with no history or backlinks.
It requires great patience to do SEO effectively; the most important factor in SEO is building a good number of backlinks to your site. The backlinks should be from many different sources and be related to your industry in some why. Also, use your keywords in your anchor text – this will make a huge difference.

Why Good Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Is Important
Many people new to internet marketing wonder why search engine optimization, or SEO, is so important. In explaining why, this article could be very short or very long, according to how much of the topic I wish to write on, although the answer is basically a matter of common sense.
Anybody who uses search engines to find out information, which is the vast majority of internet users, uses phrases to find the information they are seeking. These phrases, to them, best describe the information they seek. Thus, if the are looking for information on what to look for when buying a second hand car they might use the term 'buying second hand cars', or 'buying used cars', or 'how to buy used cars' and so on. Each of these terms is commonly termed a 'keyword', and searching for the most used keywords, or even lesser used keywords, is big business on the internet.
If you have a website, or even just one web page, dealing with that topic, you can optimize it only for one of these keywords if you want the bets results. Many people make the mistake of trying to optimize a webpage for all the keywords they can think of, totally ignorant of the fact that if they have 20 keywords then they should have 20 web pages, each optimized for one keyword.
Some people make millions of dollars explaining to others how to find and use these keywords on their websites, even though it is historical information. Yesterdays most frequently used keyword could never be used again for the rest of the year. Let me give you an example of that.
When I was new to internet marketing, I wrote a website to sell my trivia quizzes. I run trivia quizzes in my local pub, and at that time also sold them to pubs in nearby towns and cities and wrote a book on how to go about it. I decided to advertise it online and also to sell my trivia quizzes. I paid $6,500 for a mentor from Corey Rudl's Internet Marketing Center to teach me how to do it, and I was shown how to use keyword research to publicize my book.
My mentor ended up recommending I use the keyword 'black American history quiz' since it had a very high demand and low supply: so I did. Silly me! He was Canadian, and he didn't know that the word 'quiz' in the USA can also apply to a school exam, and the 'black American history quiz' was in demand by American high school kids for an exam on the topic.
I spent a fortune and made zilch. That is the last time I paid for information, and I was ripped off by the late Corey Rudl and his so-called Internet Marketing Center. At least that is my experience. It was only later that I found I could have got the same information free by registering for a few newsletters from other marketers.
I ended up losing many thousands of dollars through that experience, and using the bad information I was given, and am only now making up for it. That is the importance of knowing how to use SEO in your website. Learn how to select and use proper keywords, and do not be mislead by trends or spikes due to high school exams or current news as I was.
There are techniques to use to ensure that your website gets traffic from people browsing the web for information. If you know these techniques, you can make money from any topic, or niche, even if you personally know nothing about it. I have many websites on a number of topics, each of which makes me money in many different ways. There is no reason why you should do the same.
However, to do that, you must learn how to optimize each of the pages on your website. Stop regarding the site as an entity. It is the collection of pages that is important, each of those of which has to be treated as a separate entity. Every page will be listed separately in the search engines, and you need to know how to treat each differently, and how to optimize each so that every one will be listed in the search results when somebody uses your keyword to find the information they are seeking.
Good search engine optimization is very important, and without a good understanding of SEO, your internet business will have less a chance of success.

SEO Tips for your Website
Believe it or not but with the help of search engine optimization (SEO) your website can actually make a substantial amount of money for you. SEO will hell help to increase the quality of traffic that is getting driven to your website. The higher the quality of traffic getting driven to your website, the more sales you will make, or the more paid ad clicks you will have a chance of getting. Your website can be product based or sponsor based but either way you will be able to make a lot of cash with SEO.
There are a few key things to keep in mind when trying to get more quality traffic sent to your website. For starters make sure that you have high quality content. There is not a way around this so don’t even try to find a short cut. Also keep in mind that hot keywords will always change so you need to have the best tool in order to keep track of which keywords are the most popular right now.
Another great way to SEO is to increase the total number of back links to your website as much as you possibly can. By having the highest quality content you can get this will eventually come on its own but you can help speed up the process by promoting your website in blogs, forums, as well as discussion boards. Exchanging links is another way to help this process.
It is also important to use keywords in your content combining with an appropriate amount of keyword density which is about three to five percent. You don’t want to over use keywords as this has an adverse effect, no more than fifteen perfect for big name search engines such as Google. You will obviously need to submit your website to search engine if you want to be able to get ranked.

How Article Directories Help your SEO
It is possible to use article services and search engine optimization (SEO) together to form the perfect combination to attract high amounts of traffic to your website. This may sound difficult or time consuming but the process is so powerful if you know how to do it correctly. Even though you can’t learn everything there is to know about SEO and article directories in one small article, there are multiple websites which offer a few important tips that are very helpful.
The first step in this process is to start writing articles your self or invest in someone else’s writing services. You should be writing or getting a minimum of at least two articles per week on the subject of your website. The more the better, so if you can write ten articles a week that’s even better.
It’s also best if you get more than one website, having at least two. If you don’t have the extra cash to afford two different web hosts then find one that allows unlimited sub-domains so that you can have multiple independent websites. Be sure to optimize each page as well as you can, and link them to one another. All of the topics or niches should be complementary to each for maximum benefit.
There are many offsite actions that you can make to increase the odds of your web pages appearing high in Google listings. For starters you should have a minimum of ten pages on each web site, the more the better, It is easier than you think to keep making additional pages once you design on page to use as a template for the others, then add all of the links to it that you want on each page. Then you need to write articles on the topics of each new page on your site then submit them as many article directories as possible.

How To Maximize Your Adsense CTR - AND Earnings Per Click
You will have 3-4 ads on your page MAX. (NOT ad blocks. ADS). The fewer Adsense ads show on a page, the higher the average earnings per click for you.
If you place more ads on your page, they will show ads that rank lower on Adwords (and are cheaper). You don't want people to click on ads that pay you $0.05. You want them to click on ads that pay you $0.50! Adwords are generally disproportionately expensive on the top positions. After a while, the bids "normalize" and you won't get paid as much for showing that "Adsense" on your site.
Also keep in mind that many options confuse people. Give them few links to click on.
Don't forget to create channels to track your ads. You can set up a new channel by following this path inside your Adsense account:
Adsense set up ==> Channels ==> Add new custom channels
Be descriptive in your channel name so you know what is going on and you don't get confused. For example, if you have a page on golf clubs and you are testing a 250X250 square on the top left of the screen, use a name like: golfclub250X250left
Also make sure that you don't use channels you have used in ads in previous different markets. I have found that this can confuse the system some times and your page can show ads for the OLD market you were in. This happens especially if there is not a lot of ad inventory in the new market you are in.
Many webmasters like the big rectangle. Why? Because it works! It gets very good CTR. However, I'm not sure that most people have actually tracked the profitability of their ads. Different markets can respond differently BUT, here are a few things to consider:
The 250X250 square, has almost the exact same look like the big rectangle. One ad below the other. But it shows three ads instead of four. What does that mean? It means that you give your visitors fewer options to choose from (but not too few) and they may decide to click more easily. Not only that but you now eliminated the 4th ad which would be, on average, the lowest paying of the four.
Can we push this even more? We can. We can create a similar block of ads with only two ads this time. Just create two 234X60 half banner ads and put one under the other. You now have a "mini rectangle" with only two ads. In many markets, two ads is the sweet spot not only as far as CTR but also as far as earnings per click go.
What about having only one ad then? This would definitely give you the highest earnings per click. But one ad usually doesn't give people that much of an option. If it's not compelling enough, they won't click it. I would have at least two ads on my page.
Note: if you use the trick with the two half banners one on top of the other, make sure that you use different channels. I found that, if I use the same channel name, the exact same ad can show twice on my page! Use different channel names. It makes sense from a tracking standpoint anyway.
Make sure you disable the "advertise on this site" link that your Adsense ads show by default. This will make your ads look less like, well, ads - and more like helpful resources. Login to your Adsense account and click "My Account". Scroll down where it says: Onsite Advertiser Sign-Up [edit]. Under that it should say: Subscription: You are not currently subscribed to Onsite Advertiser Sign-Up. If it says you are signed up, click the edit link and uncheck the box on the next page. All "advertise on this site" links on your ads should disappear in a few hours max

How To Improve Your Adsense Quality Score
Most people have no idea that this even exists. Yes, there is a quality score for Adsense as well " not just for Adwords. If your site has a low AQS (Adsense Quality Score), then it will be "smartpriced" and you will get paid less for the clicks your site generates.
Since we are in the business of making more money, let’s see some of the things you can do to prevent this from happening...
You need to know that Google has some universal rules that they apply to pretty much everything they do.
If a page has certain qualities, it will rank higher on Google
If a page has certain qualities, it will get a higher quality score in Adwords
If a page has certain qualities, it will display Adsense ads that pay you more.
Here are some of the things you can do to improve your Adsense Quality Score:
- Add quality links to your pages - Add related keywords to your main term: If you have a page about "seduce women" you may consider including some keywords like "pick up artist", "dating" etc... - Use Terms of service and privacy policy links on your page. Yes, this can result in a higher Adsense quality score. Do it. - Try to make your site more interactive so that visitors will stay on it longer. Google thinks that, if someone spends more time on your site, it must be high quality. Adding comment forms, special reports, videos etc can make your visitors stay more on your aite. - Tell your visitors to bookmark your site (Google considers this a good sign of high quality as well)

Directory and Article Submissions for Link Building
Those webmasters searching to gain an edge on their competition are looking for ways to rank in search engines. A couple of the more popular ways of increasing your search results are by submitting your website for inclusion in Quality Directories and writing and submitting articles related to you niche. Here are a few rules for submitting your content.
The main benefits you receive when submitting your website to Quality Directories for review are traffic from the directory and a back link that will help your website rank higher in relevant search results. The general rule is that the more quality and relevant links you have, the higher you will climb in search engine results for relevant searches.
The first thing that you need to do prior to submitting your website for review in Quality Directories is to create the submission information. That means anchor text, keywords and site description.
The anchor text that you choose should contain varied keywords that you are targeting to increase search engine rankings with. Come up with many variations of anchor text to be used for different submissions. The text should be relevant to the site and not be too long or it may be considered keyword stuffing and be declined or altered by the Directory.
Your site description should be anywhere from 150 - 450 characters long. Do not use hype or make it sound like an advertisement. Just make it a nice description of your site. Make sure that you use proper grammar when writing it.
For keywords take five of the most important keywords you are targeting and place them here separated by a comma. Some directories may not provide a space for this and whether they do or not is really not all that important.
Article directories can also benefit your directory with link building. Some article directories will allow up to3 hyper links back to your site from the resource box from every article you submit. Often they will also allow for deep linking to pages within your site. The article itself will create content for the back link that is relevant to your website.
There are a few guidelines that you should follow when submitting articles to article directories. First just make sure your article is not already published there. Then make sure there are no spelling or grammatical errors in your article. Fill out all the fields for the article submission when you submit it and select the most relevant category for your articles content.
By using these tips for submission you should be able to use these methods successfully for your link building campaign. They can guide you in the process to increase your acceptance rate with directory and article submissions. As your submissions to quality directories and article websites are accepted, indexed and your link count rises you will see that your search engine results are going to rise proportionally.
Link building is not a quick process, but a prolonged and ongoing process. By staying on task you will be able to attain your goals with a consistent, hard approach.

The Power Of Link Building
The Web is built on links, and a solid link building strategy is absolutely essential for any business that wants to thrive online. In essence links that point back to your site do two things: they bring you targeted traffic and they enhance your search engine rankings.
By placing your links on another site that is related to your content, you can bring visitors to your site who are interested in the sort of content you offer. And Google, king of the search engines, places more value (and therefore greater rankings) on sites with multiple links pointing back to them.
I'm sure you've heard just about every urban myth imaginable regarding the right way vs. the wrong way to generate links back to your site. Let's forget about all the hoopla for now and look at the simple basics that apply to a good link building campaign.
The first obvious step is to identify placings that offer you targeted exposure. If you have a Website about auto repair tips, you need to find sites and directory categories pertaining to auto repair and place your links there.
Simple enough right? So let's focus on some of the specific types of sites you should be looking to get links from.
Link Directories:
This almost goes without saying, but just to be safe I'll include it. One way link directories are a good place to submit your links.
Avoid services that offer to broker reciprocal linking between you and other Webmasters, as these programs are often viewed as link farms by Google and can get your site booted from the search engine rankings.
Article Submission:
A fantastic way to acquire links back to your site is to write articles related to your site content and submit these to article directories and newsletter publishers. At the end of each article you write you'll include a resource box (see mine below) that provides links back to your Website.
Forum Signatures:
Join forums that are related to the theme of your site and get involved in the discussion. Please do not join a forum and just post a blatant ad about your site, as this will get you ridiculed and possibly deleted; actually join in the conversations, and include a link to your website in your forum signature.
Blog Comments: You definitely need a blog of your own, but that's a subject for other articles. In this piece about link building I want you to understand the power of simply posting comments on other people's blogs.
Find 10 to 20 blogs that relate to your website, and bookmark them or subscribe to their RSS feeds. A few times each week, visit these blogs and post comments on some of the more interesting articles.
You see, when you fill out the comment form you will be asked for your name and website URL, so you can create a hyperlink with your name or business name that leads right back to your site. Be sure that your comments are legitimate contributions and not just some silly ad for your website.
As blogs are often updated regularly, and have many incoming links to them, your comments (and therefore your link backs) are likely to receive a lot of traffic from search engine spiders and real people. So blog comments are a simple but very powerful method for linking back to your site.
Take the contents of this article and put them to use. This is a totally easy, but definitely effective outline for starting a long-term link building campaign that will bring you lots of traffic and good standing with the search engines.by Timothy Aaron Whiston

Improve Your Link Popularity With Website Promotion
So you finally started your website. You have updated it with some high quality, unique and relevant content to make your visitors stick around so now what? Now all you have to do is get those visitors to come. So let them know about your website by building links that point towards your website and gain some link popularity.
There are a couple different kinds of links you will be interested in. The first is one-way links and the second is reciprocal links.
One-way linking generally happens for websites that have a lot of quality and unique content on site and these are the type of links that search engines give more weight to. A good technique to build that content is to post relevant articles and information on your site that visitors will want to read.
You can also visit forums related to your niche. Become known there by offering and asking for advice. Make sure that anything you post is related to the topics being discussed. If you post off topic items just for the sake of advertisement you will likely earn a bad reputation there and have your posts deleted. Offer value in your posts and you will gain a good reputation and get free exposure for your website.
Online quality directories are a great source of one way relevant links for your site. Keep your submissions confined to those directories of high quality. Typically there is a review fee associated with being listed there. Yahoo directory has a good impact for the link, but charges $299 annually. Another excellent option for a significantly smaller fee is the Authority Directory.
There are many free directories on the internet also, but the quality of the link you get from free directories is typically not that good. For example the link from one quality directory typically will equal hundreds to thousands of free directory submissions.
Article publishing is another option. You can write and publish unique articles related to your niche with a link back to your website. This is not a one and done option though. If you are pursuing this you must consistently write and publish articles for it to be effective.
Blogging can also be a way of building links to your site. By creating a separate blog and linking to your directory from within the posts you can create a few relevant links to your site.
Using reciprocal linking is another method of building relevant links to your website. To effectively do this you must find other websites within your niche and request link exchanges with the webmasters there. One thing to note is that the search engines have begun to discount the value of reciprocal linking.
Don’t discount link popularity. It is a very important part of building a website that is optimized for search engines. Just know that link building is not a one and done proposition. You must consistently build links over time for it to be effective for the long term. As your links increase so shall your search engine rankings and then your traffic.

Google AdWords Is Not Google AdSense
It is interesting to note just how common and daily vocabulary has changed with the times. Five years ago, if you asked someone to google up something, he might not understand what you mean even if he was familiar with the search engine of that name.
Today, however, everyone knows what you mean. That can only point to Google’s popularity and how it has come to be identified with looking up information on the Web. One can only imagine what new words Google, and companies like it, will introduce to the vocabulary five years from now and what they could possibly mean.
Even now, there are new terms that are making the rounds in everyday conversation, words that Google has invented. If you’re at all familiar with advertising on Google, then you’ve probably heard the terms AdWords and AdSense.
Perhaps, though like most people, while you may be familiar with terms you may not know what they are actually referring to. One mistake that’s commonly being made nowadays is to interchange AdWords and AdSense, thinking that these two mean the same thing.
Fundamentally, interchanging them is a mistake because the two words are referring to two different things albeit they are very closely related to each other. This article will help you understand the differences between them, how they work together, and perhaps more importantly, how it can help you earn a little more money on the side.
AdWords and AdSense are part of Google’s advertising arm that is part of the company’s growing range of services. If you’ve used Google to look up information, then you’ve encountered AdWords. They are the text ads that appear on the results page of your search.
AdWords works by matching a Google user with Google’s paying advertisers. But instead of just showing random ads that the user you may not be interested in (or worse, be irritated at) Google will present ads that have something to do with what the user is currently looking up.
Take Sam, for example, who is looking up information on rock climbing. Sam types in the words rock climbing sport and hits the search button. Google will then present Sam with a list of webpages that contain information about that topic. Along with this listing, there appear text ads from companies offering products and services regarding rock climbing as a sport.
One of these companies is owned by Jim, who runs a rock climbing facility in the town Sam lives in. Jim is able to advertise on Google by signing up his company’s website with AdWords. He tells Google that he’d like his text ads to appear on result pages for the keywords sport rock climbing which is what Sam used to look up information. This is how Sam is able to see Jim’s ad on Google.
However, Jim doesn’t pay Google for just showing his ad. He doesn’t pay anything until someone like Sam clicks on the ad to visit Jim’s website. This is the pay-per-click (PPC) system, which is fundamentally how AdWords works.
Part of this setup is the ability of Google advertisers, like Jim, to set the price of how much the cost per click (CPC) will be on the ads posted on Google results pages. Popular keywords like sport rock climbing may command a higher CPC compared to other less popular keywords, but may be just as effective when it comes to advertising on Google.
AdSense works along side AdWords. While AdWords are text advertisements that appear inside Google’s results pages. AdSense are AdWords that appear outside Google’s website and onto other people’s websites.
Take Jen, for example, who maintains a website for the local rock climbing enthusiasts group. As part of their fundraising program, she enrolled the website on Google AdSense. By signing up for AdSense, Jen’s website will display AdWord advertisements that are related to the content on Jen’s website, in this case, about rock climbing.
Now, take Sam (still remember him?) who is still looking for information on rock climbing. Jen’s website is part of the listing that appears on Sam’s search inquiry on Google. Sam clicks on the link that leads to Jen’s website.
Sam browses through the website and reads up on climbing trips Jen’s group have organized. Along with that article, an AdWords advertisement is posted. It just so happens, that the ad is for Jim’s climbing facility. Sam, who is now more interested in taking up the sport, decides right then and there to visit Jim’s website.
By clicking on the ad, Sam has caused two things: 1. He caused Jim to pay Google the agreed CPC for placing his ad and 2. Jen’s website earns a part of that CPC by allowing Google to show Jim’s ad via AdSense.
This setup has made it possible for users like Sam to find information efficiently and be presented with AdWords from companies that are relevant to his search. Businesses like Jim’s can advertise effectively without needing to spend so much with AdWords, while website publishers like Jen can earn money by signing up with AdSense.
With AdWords and AdSense, Google has managed to give people the information they need while connecting them to others of similar needs and interests. The fact that it can make fair money out of it can only add to how cool it already is.

Learn Tricks Of The Google Adwords Keyword Tool
The Internet has brought on a lot of innovative ways to advertise a product or service. Since a lot of businesses nowadays have made the Internet as one of their major marketing channels, (if not the most important, they are always on the search for more effective ways to advertise their merchandise.
Google AdWords is a fast and hassle-free way to purchase highly favorable cost-per-click or cost-per-cost per impression kind of advertising, and it caters to all kinds of budgets. Advertisements sponsored by AdWords are shown prominently with search engine results on Google, and also on sites included in the diverse Google network, such as Blogger and Earthlink. Ads that are tied up with Google can reach a wide range of audience because of the huge amount of searches done on the Google network.
When one produces an AdWords advertisement, keywords will be chosen in which the ads will be shown, and a maximum amount for clicking the link will be assigned. One also has to specify the Google network sites in which the ad will appear. The operation saves businesses a lot of money since a merchant only pays when the ads are viewed, whether it gets clicked or not. Maximum payment is dispensed per thousand views. The ads made will appear immediately after the merchant submits the billing information required. The online account control center enables one to monitor the performance of the ads.
The ads are strategically placed in order to maximize exposure to online users. They can be located alongside or at the top of search results, or in a page that appears when a user navigates to find a site directory. Ads are also displayed on Gmail, Google's own electronic mail service.
Advertisements that are keyword-targeted are ranked by determining the number of times they were clicked, and also by the quality score. The quality score, on the other hand, is known by its clickthrough rate and other relevant factors, such as the importance of the text of the ad and historical keyword performance. High-ranking ads will be placed at the top of other ads on the search results of Google.
The system determines the placement of the ads by studying the queries of searchers to know exactly what region they are searching for. The Internet Protocol address may also be used as a basis to know where the searcher is from. If AdWords fail to come up with the right targeting for the advertisements, national or global advertisements will be displayed in its place.
There aren't much technical requirements for utilizing AdWords. It is advised to have the latest browser installed that is enabled with Javascript. For Microsoft Internet Explorer, at least the version 5.0 is recommended, and at least the version 6.0 for Netscape users. Editing of browser preferences may be necessary for those using an updated browser to enable Javascript and cookies.
It is possible to for AdWords ads to run on the individual web sites of merchants. There are two ways:
1.Google AdSense for Search Websites that transacts at least 5 million searches per month can flash AdWords advertisements on their results pages.
2. Google Adsense for Content Any web publisher can apply online. Premium service eligibility can be attained if a site receives more than 20 million views in a month.
What are the advantages of using Google AdWorks? Contracts and deadlines can be a thing of the past by using Adsense. It does not ask packages and prepayment from users. There are no minimum spending and contract requirements.
When a Google AdWorks account is created, a one-time activation fee is created, and an initial credit limit is established. The credit limit is increased everytime the account reaches is credit limit before 30 days has expired. Highest credit limit is $500.
Several payment options can be chosen from, the post-payment option and the pre-payment option. For the post-paying, payment is only dispensed for the clicks that the ad actually received.
Businesses will never run out of options on how to advertise their products and services. In fact, the channels have become more and more creative and easier for those interested to market their wares. Merchants should choose the most suitable and cost-free means for advertising.

Google Analytics and Google AdWords
Google provides a quick, effective and hassle-free way for merchants to advertise their products and services in the Internet through Google AdSense, a cost-per click and cost-per impression advertising service, where ads are displayed along search and content sites and search results done in the Google network. Merchants will be charged when online users click on the ads that are shown. Keywords are chosen in which the ads will appear, and the merchants will specify on how much they are willing to shell out for each click.
There are various benefits that advertisers can get from utilizing Google AdWords. Unlike other online advertising channels, AdWords enables the advertiser to do away with deadlines and contracts. Google's kind of advertising does not ask prepayment and packages. It is by this method that merchants can manage their advertising campaigns with their preferred performance metrics.
The service gives maximum exposure for advertisers due to the sheer number of visitors acquired by the various sites included in the Google network. Advertisements are displayed along search and content sites and products in audience comprising about 80% Internet users in the U.S. Ads appear beside search results or occupying a space in a results page a user navigates through to get to a site directory.
Google's own electronic mail service, Gmail, also features the ads.
To make the service more advantageous for advertisers, AdWords has integrated with Google Analytics. Google Analytics informs advertisers information such as the channels to which online visitors located their ads and the manner they react and interact with the site. The service enables merchants gain more visitors to their pages. Google Analytics also monitors the activities of merchants that are not related to AdWords, without any charge at all. With Analytics, one can create marketing campaigns that are target-centered and ROI-driven.
The initial announcement that Google is offering this service alongside AdWords has caused a considerable buzz among users. Advertisers have been on their toes deciding whether or not to avail of the new product. A lot of users have started to investigate what sets Google Analytics apart from other analytics companies such as WebTrends and Coremetrics. The tool got so in demand that Google has to temporarily stop interested parties from registering. By the time they decided to do so, over 200,000 accounts have been created.
The service is free for those sites that attract 5 million or less page views. For those sites that garner more views, it is necessary to register for a Google AdWords account. Registration is fast, it takes about only seven minutes to do so (less if the advertiser already has a Gmail email account.) The Help option is functional enough, and the system is available in multiple languages. Plus, Google placed importance in protecting the corporate data of each account, knowing that data regarding web analytics is extremely delicate.
Google Analytics became so popular in its initial launch due to several reasons: First, the fact that Google, a cyberspace giant, is offering it for free. Costs only occurs when the page starts to attract more than 5 million page views. The service is highly functional and has good features, which are more advanced than other analytics tools. Operations like Javascript and Flash events, PDF downloads can be tracked. Though there are doubts that Google will gain advantage from their offer to monitor outside ventures of the merchants, the company stresses otherwise.
Admittedly, some problems came up for Google due to the immense popularity of the service. It took almost a whole day or more for some data to load into the interface of Google Analytics, in fact some data takes more. There are also some difficulties with support infrastructure.
For those who are considering availing of the service, there are some possible concerns that need to be considered, that stems from it being a live or tag-based reporting software. The main issue with tools such as Google Analytics is that downloaded data like audio and video files and PDF may not thoroughly monitored.
Google Analytics is one channel for Google to take care of their advertisers and any other marketer who wishes to make good quality material on the web. The service is capable of delivering high-end web analytics to advertisers, and its integration with AdWords provides timesaving benefits.

Making Money with Google Adwords
When talking about the Internet as a legitimate place for trade and commerce, one can’t help but speculate the costs a company runs in advertising campaigns in hopes of building a viable online market.
However, Google, Inc., the company behind the runaway success search engines, outdid itself when it launched its two-fold advertising programs, Google Adwords and Google Adsense. In essence, these two advertising programs allows for both advertisers and websites that host advertisements to make money with usage.
What is Google Adwords?
Google Adwords is the advertising program devised by Google on the basis of a Pay-Per-Click system. Under the Pay-Per-Click (PPC) system, an advertiser only pays for his or her ad placement when a searcher comes upon his or her ad and actually clicks on the link, regardless of sale or purchase. This means that the advertisement virtually runs continuously on various websites at the cost only of the number of people who visit their site! This removes the exorbitant fees other commercial websites would put upon an advertiser when he or she wishes to put up an ad there, even if he or she generates no traffic at all from that ad placement.
How does Google Adwords work?
What advertisers do when signing up for Google Adwords is also designing a textual advertisement of the product or service they are offering. They also submit a list of relevant keywords to the service or product they offer. These advertisements will appear on the right-hand side of a Google page.
However, one may have guessed that the huge volume of businesses under various categories may indeed end up with similar keywords in mind for submission in Google Adwords. In determining which company gets which keywords, Google Adwords devised a bidding system for keywords alongside a content relevancy system.
In the bidding system, advertisers bid and compete for advertisers. Auctioning off keywords usually start at around 5 cents, and it is through this system that various advertisers try to outbid their competition. However, owing to the fact that this may seem as though relevance and advertising placements are completely based on an advertiser buying his or her place, Google Adwords also takes into consideration through an automated computer system the relevance of the content of the website to the keywords submitted to the system.
How does Google Adwords look like after all this work?
The Google ad appears usually on the right-hand side of the page that’s signed up to host various Google Adwords advertisements. The company’s advertisement will appear only when the keywords under which it ad was listed was directly searched for by the web searcher. Again, payment for the advertisement placement only happens once the searcher clicks on the ad.
How can one minimize the costs of the Pay-Per-Click (PPC) system while maximizing profits from sales and purchases?
Google Adwords, unfortunately, is not a no-brainer earning system for a company advertising products or services. It requires a little bit more common sense; after all, it is of interest to minimize still the costs of the Pay-Per-Click system. If searchers keep clicking on ads without these clicks turning into tangible purchases, a company would end up paying more to Google than receiving profits from the traffic brought in to the website.
Simply put, minimizing PPC system costs will only happen if the more serious buyers are the ones clicking the advertisements put up on Google Adwords.
The first step into making this scenario happen is by not being in the top portion of the preferred keywords. While indeed, being on the top three of the most preferred links would generate more clicks than placing lower in the ranks, it would also mean inviting the clicks of a variety of searchers, the interested buyers, the curious searchers, the leisurely searchers not really looking for anything in particular, and the searchers completely clueless about what they are looking for and would keep on just clicking on to find out more.
Obviously, without targeting the people clicking on the advertisements, the PPC system costs will add up, without necessarily meaning purchases.
However, by being in the latter portion of the list, there is a greater propensity that the traffic being generated comprises those searchers who are seriously seeking to purchase a product or service. Even being on the second page of the search page may not be a bad thing; after all, these are the search pages found only by those who are seriously out to buy a product, and are those accessed by usually the more informed and intelligent buyers.
Moreover, sales will be greatly maximized by increasing relevance of content in the website and keeping all the links alive. By having more relevant and targeted content, a company avoids having its advertisements being clicked by people who get confused as to what the advertisement really is for. Live links keep assuring relevant traffic flows into the site, and even the continued featuring of the advertisement on other pages.
At the end of the day, Google Adwords is a viable tool in order to increase traffic to one’s e-business if used in the most efficient way possible. By minimizing irrelevant clicks and instead targeting those who are truly looking to purchase a product or service, a company can best assure the profits they collect would be much greater than the costs they have to pay for each click on their Google Ad.

Building a Successful Web Directory
Building and maintaining a web directory can be a difficult task and time consuming. I will cover a few ways that you can optimize your directory and get the most out of your web directory. The promotion for a web directory has also changed now that Google has stopped paid links.
This article will be most useful for someone thinking about starting a web directory and has not yet established one. When starting a web directory you will first need to buy a domain, do some research for a domain. Generally its best to buy domains with the keyword in it, but seeing as there are so many domains already bought with the keyword directory in it, this may be hard. Its best to have an idea or template that you want to put up on your web directory before you even open it. It is well worth the money if you purchase a custom template for your directory.
Once you have a domain and a template you will need to figure out what type of directory it will be… the most popular directories now are probably PHP. They have some free versions of PHPlinkdirectory. Promotion is the key to your web directory, this will make a big difference. Start off submitting your directory to as many web directories that you can find to get more backlinks. You can even take it a step further and write some articles and submit them to article directories. Socializing on forums and submitting your site to Directory Critic will also result in a good amount of traffic.
Before Google penalized paid links, buying and selling links for directories were a popular way to promote your site, this can still be done on high PR directories but no-follow will be turned on and you will only receive traffic from this. Another good way to promote your directory is get a banner made and ask other directories if they will put up your banner on their site, but most likely you will have to pay a fee per month for this.
Running a web directory can be time consuming and frustrating because most people who run them will not see much income. Adsense isn’t a great way to make money with directories because most people that go to directories are only there to submit their website. One alternative to making money with your directory is by selling advertising space, for example this could be a banner or just simple text. But remember you have to put no-follow on or otherwise you will be penalized by Google if this is caught. In the early stages of your directory it will be very hard to make money, the best thing to do is avoid banners or ads for the first 4-6 months until you have made your directory a name in the community.
Once you get a PR3 or PR4 on your directory this is when you will most likely start to see some money being made, whether it is from featured links or selling banner space to other sites. You can set a per month fee for the banner space. Another advantage of having a web directory is utilizing the email templates that are sent out to users who submit their site to your directory. You can use the template to promote other sites you may have or even a friend’s site. One of the biggest make and breaks for a directory is the way you edit the links that are submitted to your directory. This is very important that you must review every link that is submitted to the right category and use correct English and grammar in their titles and descriptions. It’s also a good idea to check the page that is being submitted to make sure it’s appropriate for your directory. This may be time consuming but it will ensure only quality sites will be listed in your directory.

Are Still Keywords Beneficial to our Seo Rankings ?
Keywords are intrinsically related to search terms and they are those words and phrases that people enter into a search engine to find specific information. Most people enter 2 to 5-word phrases in Google to find what they are looking for. Google in turn analyzes all pages in its index and lists the pages which contain those search terms. Each website usually contains one or two keywords that are repeated more often than others throughout the site. These keywords dictate the “theme” of a website.
How well you can define the theme of your site, and how well you can optimize the use of keywords that comprise the theme of your site, will greatly influence your ranking with Google. This concept is fulfilled by the understanding of the Latent Semantic Indexing, that compells us to think via large phrases and no more per keywords.
In the context of the Web, a keyword is a term that a person enters into a search engine to find specific information. Most people enter search phrases that consists of between two and five words. Such phrases may be called search phrases, keyword phrases, query phrases, or just keywords, but they all generally mean the same thing.
Google determines the most relevant web pages based on a hypertext search and analysis of your site and of other sites that contain links to your site. Specifically, Google looks to see if the text of a link (the clickable portion) that points to your site, the title of the linking page, and other content on the linking page, also contain your keywords.
The more web pages that link to your site, the more important Google thinks your site is and hence the higher your PageRank value can be. Moreover, it is the quality, as well as the quantity, of links that matter - not all links are valued the same. However, keep in mind that PageRank is but a single (albeit important) factor used in ranking. Sites that are highly optimized for particular keywords can outrank sites that are less optimized but have higher PageRank values.

Search Engine Marketing Vs. Search Engine Optimization
You can perform all of the Search Engine Optimization tasks yourself to create web pages that deliver good search engine result page performance in conjunction with Pay-Per-Click advertising to bring website visitors to you successfully if you these search engine strategies where they work best.
Here is how the two methods compare:
SEO brings your website visitors at a low cost, because you are relying on the organic structure of the search engines for your traffic.
Bringing visitors to your site with PPC advertising is expensive primarily because of the competition in the marketplace, the bid for a popular keyword can be as much as $5.00 a click.
SEO results can take 6 weeks or more to see, depending on the schedule of the search engine robot and whether it has visited your site before, this could range from 2 to 8 weeks.
PPC provides results in 2 to 4 weeks, once you set up your campaign and pay the fee, your listing will begin getting clicks.
PPC works best for specific campaigns such as holiday promotions, or any special situation where you want to get immediate visitors. SEO works best for long term visitor traffic.
SEO cannot guarantee ranking, with PPC you can be certain of the ranking.
PPC is the best way to launch a new site with specific keywords, it brings immediate attention to your site and used in combination with SEO is the best way to bring consistent attention to your site after launch.
